Casa George Sebastian

Un loc unde orice român trebuie să meargă este Centrul Cultural Internaţional din Hammamet, sub această denumire este cunoscută vila românului George Sebastian. Acesta a ales să locuiască în Tunisia şi casa sa enormă, construita in 1927, elegantă, situată în preajma mării şi în inima unui parc splendid a atras ca un magnet prietenii francezi celebri ai lui Sebastian.

Printre ei numărându-se: Andre Gide, Georges Bernanos, W. Churchill. Frumuseţea zonei şi arhitectura specială, în stil arab, a locuinţei a făcut ca statul tunisian să cumpere casa în 1959 şi să o transforme în muzeu. Din 1964 ansamblului i-a fost adăugat şi un teatru în aer liber, ce oferă spectacole muzicale, piese şi recitări din autori celebri, continuând tradiţia intelectuală a lui George Sebastian. George Sebastian's House

A place where every romanian (and why not every tourist) should go is International Cultural Center of Hammamet, as is known the romanian George Sebastian's vila. He chose to live in Tunisia and his enormous house, built in 1927, very ellegant and placed near the sea and in the middle of a splendid park was like a magnet for the Sebastian's famous friends. Amongst them was Andre Gide, Georges Bernanos, W. Churchill. The beauty of the surroundings and the arabian architecture made the Tunisian state to buy the house in 1959 and transform it into a museum. Since 1964, the complex gained an uotdoor theater, which offers muzicals, plays and recitals of famous authors, to carry on the intellectual tradition of George Sebastian.
